Deli Lane Café opened in 1988

Born on a shoestring budget and sheer will, Deli Lane has grown into an iconic staple in Miami serving South Miami’s best comfort food with an experience that will go easy on your wallet.

Jahn and Mike set out to open a restaurant that would serve top notch food at reasonable prices. With plenty of years combined restaurant experience the two hoped Deli Lane would be the kind of place that folks would want to visit over and over again and that they would become a part of its community. Jahn had been compiling unique recipes for years during his travels around the US and abroad in the hopes of one day serving up these delicacies. The weekend brunch has become a must go for anyone passing through or staying in South Miami. Also boasting unusual recipes of Soups, Salads, Sandwiches and Entrees that tantalize your tongue, satisfy your senses. If you have ever tried the Pressed Duck or the TB Grill you will certainly feel the love.

Still serving up outrageously good food everyone can enjoy in a fun and fresh atmosphere. All of Deli Lane’s food is made fresh to order and is served with a smile. Chances are if you have lived in Miami for more than 6 months, you have probably eaten at DL, if not come see what you’ve been missing.

    JAHN KIRCHOFF

    Born on Long Island Jahn heading south for college he started in the restaurant business spinning pizzas to pay his way. Always about working with his hands and developing his keen business sense Jahn amassed his culinary experience working as a line cook and then chef from New York, Ann Arbor and back down to Miami. Traveling in between stints he started collecting and tweaking recipes, at first making seafood his specialty. Through the years he has compiled an enormous repertoire of recipes some finding their way to the menu while others are rotated on the daily specials offerings.

    Michael Maler

    A native Floridian Mike has always enjoyed the natural beauty and benefit of living close to the ocean in South Florida. He is an avid fisherman and naturalist who understands the delicate balance of the local environment. Also loving seafood Mike starting catching and cooking the local delicacies, then meeting Jahn as co-workers in 1981 they started collaborating first, for other restaurants and then together they found the business opportunity that turned into Deli Lane Café.
